QUICK UPDATES
YO HO HO!! It's December, so Happy Holidays from us to you! It's also TDM month so for those interested can get a little preview through our details!
We have updated the Calendar for important dates, but here is a quick heads up on what to expect this month:
The Manta Board has been posted with new and updated quests! A few of last month's quests have also carried over, so if you didn't have a chance to do them last month, you have another chance.
We also have some interesting quest updates! First we have a new bounty, and don't let that innocent looking fluff fool you… As for some continued quests, the Gallows Gambit in particular has a follow up with the Paladins scrambling to clean up the mess and Corsairs wanting heads for it. There is also a new Goose bounty, and it's either evolved or some new version of it has appeared. Good luck.
IMPORTANT! We didn't make this clear before, but characters helping opposing armada quests will only be rewarded 2pts for participation unless specified otherwise. This will be enforced starting this month; we will not enforce this retroactively. So if your Corsair helped a Paladin on their Paladin quest or vice versa in the past, you can count them as full 4pts. But from now on, it will only count as half as those quest rewards are meant for that particular group.
Our Rewards page has been updated with a few new limited items for the month! Unlike last time, we are not keeping the previous month's limited items, so if you missed them, they're gone! For now, anyway. We'll try to rotate them back or have another version of them another time.
Speaking of rewards, important reminder about Shellphone User IDs! All characters' ID will be their journalname, but they can change it through the Rewards page. So please be sure to buy it through the Rewards page if you haven't already!
We have officially changed the player cap to 65. More details on that here.
As a reminder, this month's AC is check-in only! We are also offering free passes to those who do submit AC. You can read more about it in the AC Results section.

» One Player bound pass. You only get one pass regardless of how many characters you play.
» Submit proofs for all characters. You must submit proofs for all characters you play.
» Cannot be used between hiatuses. When using a free pass, you cannot use it before and after a hiatus. So no hiatus > free pass > hiatus. You can use it once before (free pass > hiatus) and once after (hiatus > free pass), but we insist that this should be an emergency case use only.

INCREASED PLAYER CAP
Since we did hit our original cap of 50 and we feel comfortable enough to handle more, we are permanently upping the player cap to 65. Laena is banned from upping it any further, so this is likely going to be the last cap increase.
Application cycles will continue as normal, so after the January app cycle, the next one will be March. Mod invitation requests will remain open for January Cycle. However, depending on how many we get this month, we may have to limit invitations to players only and it will be a first come basis.

GENERAL UPDATES
Just some quick notes on state of various things that don't quite fit anywhere.
First off, thanks to everyone's efforts, both the Naughtilust and Eltrut are feeling much better. The Naughtilust will now continue its roam through the waters and traverse between all three leviathans, so some days it will be closer to Nogard, some days Elah. Eltrut has also shed all of its pumpkin, its shell nice and shiny…before it will need to prepare for its hibernation in January.
As for what everyone's been up to, you guys were clearly busy little bees and we love it. We wish we could highlight everything that everyone has done, but that would make this about five pages longer. So we can only give some quick general summaries for some of the topics we asked for:
There was a lot more that happened, but we're loving everything we're seeing!! Thanks everyone!
And finally, a quick Reward Shop update. It occurred to us, that we didn't include anything for characters just having their own small boat for personal use. Sailboats, fishing, small yachts, dinghies, cabin boats—just boats large enough to have a small group and for short traveling around or would need modifications and a lot of fuel stored to travel the vast distances between leviathans.
So we have included a….boat permit of sorts to get three different sizes of boats. Note, none of these will compare to a full fledged crew ship, but they will at least help individual characters get around. Transportation to move ships to different ports is automatically granted and can be handwaved so you can still use these boats in different places if needed. Finally, it's only one boat per character, but they can switch and upgrade boats through the shop. It's also possible for characters to do their own upgrades, but will still need to use upgrade points to keep things fair.

» Gallows Gambit: A lot of effort went into saving those caught in the nooses of that corrupted paladin, some more destructive than others (medals granted to Benedikta, Daqiang, and Xenk). A lot of outcry and many complaints were lodged at Paladin HQ, but will it go anywhere?
» Tech development. Research in helping both Turo and the Spellbound Circuitry quest are leading to further advancements on various projects. Let us continue to advance the world of Escordvi!!
» Honk. Many people went after the goose. Some managed to be successful, but most were outsmarted by the goose. Still, it or some other higher goose has not been pleased by all these attempts…
» Tombstone Research. A large group is working hard in researching the tombstone fragments, with Rem in particular hoping to pool everyone's research and assistance in learning more about it. It's hit a wall due to restricted access caused by the current situation with the Paladins, but should be able to resume once it clears.
» Crews formed! We have three crews now officially registered: The Hideaway, The Tidebringers, and The Raiders of the Lost Arts. All three are Corsair, and only one obtained their ship through the traditional "Leviathan spits it out for them" method. Take a guess who (note, it's not the one with the Paladin in it). You can read about all of them on the Crews & Ships page. We hope to see more in the future!

WINTERSTIDE
In Escordvi, there's no "Santa Claus," but they do have various winter traditions for the season, some of which are very similar to the Santa Claus concept. However, it should be noted that except for some specific locations, it won't be very cold. In fact, the temperature is quite warm, so it might have more of a "Christmas in July" feeling. So there might not be a lot of "snow activities" this month, but we can guarantee next month will have a nice "winter resort" that everyone can look forward to.
That should cover the main highlights of the event! As a reminder, since this is a TDM we'll include the basic prompts for new characters that pop in. The log will go up Wednesday, December 13 and will also be the IC date when everything starts happening.
» The Frostsinger. While we don't have a Santa Claus, we have something better: The Frostsinger. Flying through the air on her own special flying sleighship pulled by jackalopes, a song will fill the air to spread winter cheer and joy all over Escordvi.
» Winter Traditions. We will have a "catchall" section for various prompts that will occur all over rather than tied to a specific location. Some traditions that will be available will be:
» The Curse of Toy Island. There is a particular island that is filled and is made out of toys. This is where the Frostinger obtains most of her toys and materials to deliver to all. However, a strange curse has befallen it where even those who enter it become toys. Only during this season does the Frostinger allow access to the island for others to use for their own sales and help her deliveries, and the many crews and groups who sailed out have not returned. Suspecting something is amiss, the Frostsinger will ask for help as she is too busy to look into it herself.
Turns out, all those who step foot onto it will turn into a toy, and if they do not leave the island within a certain timeframe, they will remain like this until the curse is broken. Characters can turn into any kind of toy, from some kind of doll to a spinning top.
There will be various objectives as prompts, including seeking out the source of the curse!
» Winter Traditions. We will have a "catchall" section for various prompts that will occur all over rather than tied to a specific location. Some traditions that will be available will be:
Mistletoe Bats. While there may be some sprigs of holly hung around doorways, there is a special species of bats with the wings of mistletoe leaves and cute little red heads. They will fly around and bite people, making the bitten want to either kiss or fight others. How severe the effect is up to the player. Some might want to "kiss" to the cheek (either by mouth or fist) or some might want a full "passionate" session.
Gifts. Exchanging gifts is another custom, though it's a much less formal affair. No special tree or anything like that. The Corsairs this year will have a "regift" challenge to steal presents from the obnoxious rich and deliver them to someone more fitting. Paladins will be focusing actually making gifts and toys (as part of charity service due to the gallows incident).
Special Activities. There are some other activities and traditions that will be available, including some questionable ribbon action,
Snow Delivery. The leviathans are all sticking to warmer waters, so the only reason why the air might feel a little chill is thanks to the Frostsinger. One of her many deliveries includes dumping a bunch of snow and conjuring a bit of winter clouds to various spots around the leviathans and populated islands that would normally not have snow. It's not a true Winter Wonderland, but at least there are some places to have some snow fun.

LAST WORDS
And that's it! If you have any questions, feel free to comment here. All quest-related questions should be posted to the Manta Board post.
